My mother is in a nursing home. Her hearing aids are not covered by Medicare nor Medicaid. She's only allowed $50 a month from her social security for so her clothes, personal items, and supplements, her eye glasses and hearing aids. $50 a month won't cover that stuff
The fact that legislators would use this for political gain and schools would use this as a financial game (teaching to the tests so they get an A rating, which gives them more money, wash-rinse-repeat). is a no from me.
Didn't they learn something from the failure of the No Child Left Behind?
I personally don't care, but I understand why it is important to so many. I'm embarrassed how bad our 'top tier' athletes are doing. Is this the best we have? I've seen Disney on Ice, couple of those folks surely could have been available.
If you can give Medicaid people hearing aides you can give Medicare people hearing aides.

ReplyI'm 63 & I need hearing aids for both ears! I can't afford them on my small social security check with the other bills that I pay every month!
